Terry & Cheryl Walters

Terry says you'll have to go way back and think real hard to remember the young man with glasses and hair that attended Crestway back in 1975, some called me "Yankee". He had met Pastor DeFore and Youth and Music Minister Darryl Pursely along with many of the youth on a mission trip to Haiti in 1974 and was so impressed with them that he moved here from Illinois for several months the next year. Terry worked as a volunteer right along side of Darryl learning what youth and music ministry was all about and did some of the work on the inside of the building project, which became the new sanctuary. While at Crestway, Terry felt called into the ministry and returned to Illinois, married Cheryl and entered the youth and music ministry in Arkansas. He later moved into the pastorate and got his B.A. from Williams Baptist College in Arkansas. They served several churches in Arkansas, Memphis and Indiana before returning to pastor in their home state. They planted the church in Pana, IL in 2001, where they continue to serve. Terry & Cheryl have two children and three grandchildren. You can check in on them at www.cccpana.com or on Facebook.
Stephen Stake was at Crestway while he was a student. He has worked as a missionary in Mexico. He then worked two and a half years with the Apache Indians. He has been in Baltimore for the past year working on his Doctorate in Public Health at Johns Hopkins. He is praying for God's guidance in where to serve after he finishes school. Below is a portion of his latest news letter.
